点评:We made it to Anse Le Farine
And the beach is truly beautiful
However the path does not exist at patches and it is very difficult to get lost /lose your way or feel very very uncomfortable about how you will get back to where you started. Admittedly we did not use a dedicated app (maybe we should have)
We tried to leave marks with crayons here and there but they are unlikely to last. Top tips.
1. Park you car at Anse la blague, there is no where to leave the car after that. Take at least 2litres of water per person. The beach has minimal shade and the sun is hot when it is out.
2. Follow the road as Google maps indicates (concrete pathway) on foot until you see the blue fin. Yes the fin is there and my heart was so happy when I saw it. Turn right exactly where the fin is.
3. The pathway is down ward. The vegetation is very dense especially at the start. Wear long trousers and proper shoes. This is not a pathway to wear flip flops. I wish I had my gardening scissors with me, it would have made life much easier.
4. Consider bringing some chalk to mark your way every now and then to make sure you find your way back up as occasionally there is more than one pathways that could potentially lead to somewhere (or nowhere)
5. A big tree (with a carved arrow) can be seen at the end of the descend. Straight after that you reach a marsh land. At that point if you have taken your time to find your way and you are a bit unsure like we were you will be at around 75mins from the time you left your car.
6. We slightly got lost around the marsh. We did not want to go through it as some reviews suggested. We tried going to the right of it, where the big spiders webs and some massive spiders were but that route seemed to be taking us uphill again. Luckily there were no other encounters with animals or insects despite the dense jungle.
7. Finally we found a board acting like a bridge that took us to the left of the marsh. After that you find yourself amongst palm trees but the jungle still feels dense , there is no light (or sounds) or signs to indicate you are at the right place. I think this is where it gets tricky as you are very close to sea but you cannot see a path way anymore and you are genuine lost. Cross that area with the dense palm trees going straight to the south and you will find yourself to the most beautiful beach. The sand is fine and sparkling white. The water is pristine and clear. Simply wonderful.
8. My recommendation is if you are running short of time and you do not want to go up the mount again try and make an arrangement with a local fisherman from Anse La Blague to pick you up at a designated time and get you back to where you started via the sea.
9. Good luck and enjoy! 👍🏼
Anse Le Farine
