点评：We have just returned from our first ever visit to Africa. After much research we chose Caracal Tours & Safaris for our holiday trip to Tanzania. We chose them as they are a locally based tour operator in Tanzania. Not only did we want to see the wildlife we also wanted to experience the people and culture of Tanzania. Marion from Caracal put together a great itinerary tailored to meet the experiences we were looking for. We were also lucky enough to have Marion's husband Ben as our safari guide for most of the time.
We spent 16 days in Tanzania and enjoyed it immensely. Ben's overall knowledge of the wildlife and Tanzania itself was of a high calibre. His ability to drive on what we would call very rough roads and still spot animals and birds was uncanny. As there was only two of us in the 8 seater safari vehicle we had plenty of room to move around and Ben gave us as much time as we needed to see the things that interested us most.
We were extremely lucky as one of the highlights of our trip was to see two wildebeest migration crossings of the Mara River in one day. As well as ticking off the big five, we saw an amazing variety of animals and birds. We saw in excess of 30 different animal species and even more varieties of birds.
We were extremely happy with all the accommodation Marion booked for us. There was a great mix of types of accommodation including tented safari camps, 5 star lodges and more traditional African themed accommodation but still with creature comforts. All the local Tanzanians we met seemed happy to help us and share their experiences. As we only spoke English, we were impressed that most of the accommodation staff spoke English well.
Leading up to and during our trip Marion from Caracal was always on hand to answer our many questions. We were surprised to learn that we were Caracal's first Australian clients. We would have no hesitation in recommending Caracal Tours & Safaris. Marion, Ben and their staff are a great team.
