点评:Nano Nagle was a remarkable woman for her time. She could have lead a life of privilege, but she devoted her life, resources and energy to improving the lives of others. She used her wealth, education and influence to found an order of nuns to educate and minister to the poor. The place where she lived, worked, and taught has wonderful exhibits providing detail on how she accomplished so much good for the people of the community. The grounds and cemetery where she and many nuns are buried is a beautiful sanctuary in the heart of Cork. We took a guided tour and learned that though Nano Nagle lived humbly, and did not seek recognition, her achievements have been acknowledged by the Catholic Church, and she may one day be recognized as a saint. We were able to see the room where she lived and worked, as well as some relics. Nano Nagle’s Place is well worth a visit.
