点评:Discriminating against my disabled child & I was met with nothing but cheek & entitlement from the owner. The treatment I received constitutes discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.
Upon arrival, I parked in a clearly marked Blue Badge space with the badge displayed in full view. As I left my vehicle, a member of staff called over and asked if I had a Blue Badge. This was unnecessary, given the badge was plainly visible, and left me feeling targeted, uncomfortable, and singled out in front of other visitors.
During my visit, I noticed another vehicle parked in the same Blue Badge spaces without a badge displayed. When I raised this with a staff member and asked why we had been questioned while others were not, I was approached by the owner, who confirmed the vehicle was hers. She stated that she could “do what she wants” because she owns the farm.
When I questioned why I had been singled out for scrutiny while others were not, I was met with a rude and condescending response. At no point was I offered an apology, nor was there any acknowledgement of the impact this had—particularly as the Blue Badge belongs to my child, whose disability is not always physically visible.
Under the Equality Act 2010, both visible and non-visible disabilities are protected, and organisations providing services to the public have a legal duty to ensure disabled people are not treated less favourably or subjected to discrimination, harassment, or victimisation. Singling out visitors with a visible Blue Badge while ignoring others in the same parking area is discriminatory.
The way it was dealt with says alot about the company & the owner. Do not recommend and wouldn’t give them a penny again! A formal complaint has been raised and will be taken the full road.
This is the owners car parked in a blue badge space showing no blu badge. But she thinks that’s ok???
