Informative and Humorous Guided Tour By Volunteer

点评：As an independent charity, Turner’s House guided tour availability is subject to sufficient volunteers being available. Pre-booking is recommended and as this is a modest size house, larger groups should contact ahead of time to confirm logistics. The house is only open during the warmer months as well so recommend checking the website in advance. Hours were Wed to Sun, 12 noon to 4pm at Sep’24.
The Grade II listed house has been beautifully restored. Thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour with Colin whose style effectively conveyed information, sprinkled with some humor. The other volunteers also did a great job by not overlapping with content expected to be shared during the tour but highlighted other things while we wandered through as we were early for our tour. The guided tour was just under an hour and as the house is modest size, you can revisit rooms of particular interest within 2 hours in total. Some souvenirs can be picked up at the gift shop/admissions desk. There isn’t a cafe on site but it isn’t far to the Richmond high street area where there are plenty of dining choices.
Despite being a smaller house museum, an impressive number of events had been scheduled that we just missed (many appeared to have been over the summer). Check out the website.
Marble Hill house is just down the road so you could visit both on the same day.
