Expensive and best for younger, single-children (not multiples)
儿童博物馆的点评
点评：Overpriced at $25 per person, including adults who are here to supervise our children. My 7 year old had a lot of fun, but my 10 year old took a while to get into the exhibits, which cater to younger ages. The staff are mostly friendly but one woman with a mask and braided hair was overly aggressive about expecting adults to be an arm’s length from their kids at all times. She sent my 7 year old out of the climbing line to “go find your grown up” when I was in an adjacent exhibit assisting my older child with a construction activity. I immediately saw my son walking over with tears in his eyes, thinking he did something wrong. I then walked him 10 steps over and he got back in the line and she let him through. Why was he targeted like that? How did she know whose parents were next to them and whose weren’t? Parents were standing or sitting all over the place! I also saw her do this to two brothers, about 9 years old, who were nicely walking about and checking things out. She stopped then and got on her walkie talkie and gave them an inquisition about where their mother was—whom they quickly identified not far away. The staff also need to do a better job keeping the floor dry in the water area, as my son slipped and fell. I did appreciate the worker’s attention and offer of an ice pack, though. We’ve been to many children’s museums and there are definitely better ways to keep kids safe while also allowing families to move about and enjoy the spaces that they spent so much money to use. It was more costly for us to attend this place than the Chicago Art Institute, which was way more educational and high quality—even my kids loved it.
