点评:We visited the Sill as a starting and finishing point for a walk along Hadrian's Wall taking in the Sycamore Gap and Housesteads Roman Fort. Unfortunately on the way back it had started raining so we thought the cafe at the Sill would be a good place for a hot drink and chill. How wrong were we.
On entering the cafe there was a sign saying to wait to be seated. We approached a member of staff who stated that we should have taken a seat and someone would be over and take our order.
We sat waiting for over ten minutes watching the staff take orders from customers who had arrived after we did. The way the staff were working seemed chaotic with nobody appearing to know what they were doing. We were eventually approached by a member of staff who took our order and then moved to another table and took another order. We waited for our order to be delivered to the table for another 10 minutes but it never came. Orders were delivered to other tables then the staff were standing about doing nothing. We decided we had waited long enough. We approached the member of staff who had taken our order and informed her that we had waited long enough and we were met with a look of bewilderment. We were given a reluctant apology by one member of staff who then proceeded to tell her colleague to only apologise as the customers make things up.
