Playa San Pancho is a beautiful one mile stretch of walkable beach, bookmarked on either end by rocky cliff formations. The northern stretch is mainly private beachfront homes located within a gated community called Las Olas - a beautiful walk to see these homes along the shore. The northernmost portion you will find the Tierra Tropical Beach Club - info below.
Seasonal - there are often Tortuga / Turtle release events that take place on the beach, which is an amazing site to witness hundreds of baby turtles rushing to the sea! The releases usually take place early evening, and the best way to know what date is to follow their Instagram where they announce releases. A beautiful event for parents and their kids, and best is that it is free to witness! There is NO touching or handling the turtles!

The Tierra Tropical Beach club and restaurant (absolutely spectacular, a must see!) is at the northern end of the beach. A spectacular architectural palapa, designed by a Swiss architect and they host elaborate weddings and events. They offer day passes to use their pool, gym and facilities. Their restaurant and bar are exquisite food, great service and always check hours - they are seasonal. Taxis are available from San Pancho town to take you there (5 minutes) or you can walk north along the beach - you can't miss the stunning architectural Palapa.
Surfing and surf rentals are located at the south end of the beach, as are a few restrooms on the Malecon (where vendors are) that charge a small fee to use. Public restrooms are not 'free' - best to carry small change.
There are several lively beachfront (toes in the sand) seafood and cocktail restaurants often with live music. Instagrams below.
If you need to rent a beach umbrella and chair for the day, there are several vendors that will assist you for a fee. Best of all... LOOK FOR THE PINK TENT. They are amazing masseuse that will give you the best one hour massage under their pink tent, while you listen to the waves crash. Cash only. PINK tent says Masseuse!
There are plenty of ATM in San Pancho, just ask any shop owner where the nearest one is. They are secure and safe to use, however, they can run out of cash. Plan ahead!
It is best to always have some cash on you in either $USD or Pesos. The smaller vendors are cash only, and while most restaurants accept credit cards, it is often that they say 'cash only' if wifi / credit card swipe is offline. Most, if not all places will take $USD at current exchange rate.

The water can get rough at times with an undertow (which is hard to see on the surface) - so please always keep an eye on your children and loved ones! While you may notice some lifeguard towers, do NOT depend that the person you see on the lifeguard tower is in fact a lifeguard. The towers are typically manned during major local holidays, if at all, so do not rely on lifeguards.
There are always lots of dogs on the beach having fun in and out of the water, and most are someone's pet, FYI!
Major Mexican holidays will see the beach very busy, and parking in town is almost impossible, so plan ahead.
