点评:Initially, after I purchased 5 tickets online for $40 each, I was thinking, "this had better be good for $40 a person." We took our 3 grown granddaughters, 2 of whom had been to the Aquarium before. And, we went on a Saturday (the only day we were in Charleston). With regard to the Saturday visit, if you have an aversion (we don't) to little kids, don't go on a Saturday. The place was packed with families.....and, that is great!
The exhibits are nicely done. Their presentation of part of their mission (rehabbing sea turtles) was presented well. As an invertebrate zoologist, I would have like if there wee more displays and/or information about, for example, the role of coral animals in building coral reefs, molluscs, crustacea, the amazing life in the very deep sea, etc.
But, I want to tell you that the grown granddaughter who had never been here before thought the visit was great; she's thinking of an aquarium membership. The other two seemed to enjoy their repeat visit. So, was the entrance fee worth it? The jury is still out on that question.
