Booked a table for 4, end of school treat for the girls. Frosty welcoming on arrival but no problem it was busy in the bar, we sat in the restaurant the waiter showed us to the table, it was his first shift, very polite and attentive.
After some time our drinks arrived, then we discussed my wife’s oil and butter intolerance, we finally agreed on the cauliflower arranchi and the short rib to start, the beef rib was ok, warm but under seasoned, soggy canapé shell and two mouthfuls at most £7.50,
Our plates were cleared at a relaxed pace to say the least.
Our mains, we chose the cote de bouf, a lovely cut well cooked seasoned and amazing quality. Unfortunately this is where the attention to detail and calibre of cooking lacks.
Accompanying the beef was a small portion of mash potato way over seasoned, a rocket and red onion salad and a measly amount of peppercorn sauce, also 2 grilled plumb tomatoes, i asked for the fries, bloody mary seasoning, over seasoned and pretty much inedible for the £90 it felt poor value for money and priced similar to amazing London steak restaurants but lacking the wow factor.
An ok night, overpriced no value for money but ok if your passing.
