Beautiful Museum, Rude Staff

点评：I recently visited the beautiful and historic Pittock Mansion in Portland, Oregon. I loved learning about the history of the Pittock Family and gathering more information about the development of the city of Portland. The estate includes manicured ground that are wonderful to wander through on a sunny day. You can also enjoy the amazing views of the city's skyline from the mansion's grounds. I suggest you go to the museum in the morning because when I arrived at 10 a.m. the museum was very quiet, but by the time I left at noon the mansion was getting very crowded with visitors. The mansion is filled with beautiful antiques and several information plaques that give you the background/biographies of the family members who lived there.
The museum is relocated on a very isolated mountain top, so the best way to get there is either to drive or take an Uber. Although there is a city bus that leaves you near the museum, you then have to walk up a very steep, hilly road to the mansion. If you're feeling adventurous and want to take a hike on a beautiful day, there are nature trails that lead from the mansion Washington Park.
P.S. The only thing I didn't like was rudeness of the museum staff. The young lady at the ticket office was rude and abrupt. I also noticed that the lady at the entrance of the museum (where you start the tour) was very unfriendly. She seemed bothered when I asked her if there was a little map for the "self-guided" tour. I found this behavior very strange because almost everyone I encountered during my visit to Portland was very polite and friendly!
