Voyageurs National Park的点评
点评：We visited Voyageurs with our three children (ages 5, 7 and 9). We enjoyed the displays at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center and found the park staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. There were plenty of picnic tables available for us to eat lunch at here before we began a ranger-lead boat tour that left from the visitor center. My suggestion is to book your boat tour well in advance. I tried to book a tour about 2-3 weeks before our visit, but every tour was full for the dates we were in town (which was mid-week) and I had to extend our stay by a day in order to have a boat tour opportunity.
We did the "Grand Tour", which was over 3 hours long. My kids stayed entertained by the scenery and commentary provided by park staff. There was about 40 people on board, but we never felt overly crowded. We were able to move freely around the boat once the tour started. The staff was friendly and worked hard to answer questions and show us wildlife. This was a highlight of our trip to Voyageurs.
We hiked several trails in the park with our young children (Oberholtzer, Voyageurs Forest Overlook Trail, Beaver Pond Overlook Trail and Blind-Ash Bay Trail). The hiking trails were beautiful and rugged, but they didn't offer any expensive views. We are a hiking family and live in the northern forests of Michigan, so while we enjoyed the hiking trails here, we've been on better hikes before. That being said, we enjoyed exploring an area new to us and there is much beauty to be found here. To fully experience Voyageurs, make sure you have a plan for how you will get out on and enjoy the water!
