点评:Carlton Marshes is a wonderful patchwork of grazing marshes crisscrossed by dykes with waterside vegetation. A Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve, it is managed for the diversity of wildlife in a relic of a disappearing landscape close the the river Waveney. On the day we visited, birds of prey were in evidence, with Red Kites, Marsh Harriers and Hobbys in evidence. But it is its insect life that appeals, particularly to photographers. We saw rare dragonflies such as Vagrant Emperor, Scarce Chaser and Norfolk Hawker among commoner species. This time we missed out on Britain's largest spider, the Fen Raft Spider, which has been reintroduced, but will return in hope on another day.
The spacious centre offers welcome food and drink. Bear in mind that exploring the reserve involves a lengthy walk in potentially challenging conditions.

宽敞的中心提供迎宾食品和饮料。请记住,探索保护区需要在可能具有挑战性的条件下进行长时间的步行。
