大棱镜温泉的点评
点评：My wife and I saw the Grand Prismatic Spring in two different ways. The first way was close up along the boardwalk. We spent about an hour and a half in the early morning doing that. Then we drove further down the road in order to park at the Fairy Falls Trailhead. It took quite a while to get a parking spot (unlike when we arrived at the spring itself earlier that day), which told us that we could expect a lot of fellow tourists at the overlook. Check! It was elbow-room only on the platform when we arrived.
While it's great to get up close to the spring, it's even better to see it from the overlook. Thankfully, the plentiful mist we experienced at the spring that morning had mostly dissipated by the time we arrived at the overlook, allowing a spectacular view and photos of all the colors. Those colors, as we were advised in advance, are best seen on a sunny day (which it mostly was) at just about the time of day we saw it. Hands down, the Grand Prismatic Spring is the best natural feature of the entire park. (Sorry, Old Faithful!)
