点评:This is a beautiful & unique walk to do only half an hour’s drive from Brisbane CBD. You need to watch the tide times and in this regard I suggest going in the morning (check for the best time to go so you can walk to the island before the tide comes in and covers the sandbar). You start from Wellington Point near the tip and can walk across the sandbar out to King Island. It is a short walk (1km one way approx.) but the sand is dry & loose in the middle and that will slow you down a bit (take off your shoes if you don’t want to get sand in them, or stick to the sides). There is nothing touristy to see or do on King Island, which is a small and uninhabited conservation park with no facilities (just the way I like it!) but there are some nice views out over the back to Moreton Bay. Afterwards, taken the opportunity to have a cuppa or breakfast at Oxley’s on the Bay – a great little café that does get very busy being near such a popular spot.
