点评：Grand Canyon West Review
We booked accommodation near Grand Canyon West without realising it was a private area designed purely to extract as much money as possible from tourists.
The entry fee was an eye-watering $72 USD per person, which offers significantly less than the $35 car fee for the national park. This quickly adds up if you’re travelling in a group.
The entire area is restricted, requiring you to take their buses to the two viewing locations. This setup seems designed to prevent you from exploring independently and forces you into spending more. Buses are infrequent, and you’ll find yourself standing in long lines multiple times throughout your visit.
Access to the Skywalk is included, but it’s another opportunity for them to charge you more. Phones and personal belongings are confiscated so they can sell you overpriced photos taken by their staff. The whole experience feels exploitative, and the long waits continue here as well.
While the views are, of course, spectacular, the overall experience left a bad taste. The constant gouging overshadowed the natural beauty and made me resent the visit, which is sad considering how incredible the Grand Canyon truly is.
My advice? Avoid Grand Canyon West and head to the national park instead. You’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace and truly appreciate this natural wonder without feeling taken advantage of.
