San Isabel National Forest的点评
点评：San Isabel National Forest is beautiful, 15 degrees cooler than the flats, and free.
It is a beautiful place to hike, perhaps camp if that's your thing. Lots of trails, lots of road that make hiking easy. Beautiful Vistas! You can see Kansas from up on some of those mountains!
I have only been there spring, summer and fall. Never been one for cold weather outings so I can't say about the winter season. (but I have seen the effects when I go out early spring.)
The smell of pine permeates the air. There is often running water nearby that you can hear. The ground is rocky where others have tread but soft with tree litter, pine needles and moss if you get off the trails.
Be careful about the altitude...it will sneak up on you. In the 60's the roads and trails were filled with Olympic athletes preparing for the Olympic Games in Mexico City. They were acclimating to the altitude expected in Mexico.
