Amazing islands but average experience

点评：We are a backpacking couple and did the 3 night tour from Panama City.
The islands themselves are amazing - crystal clear water and white sand. We reviewed a few options including blue sailing etc and opted for frontera as it was the cheapest.
The experience was ok, but I think you do get what you pay for. We had very few options for food, it was just “chicken or fish” or sometimes “chicken or veg” and it was very bland. Also they just take you to and from the islands and leave you to it so we would’ve appreciated a few organised activities to make it more fun.
Also the local people generally weren’t very friendly towards us. I’m sure there may be other reasons for this so don’t want to blame them but we just didn’t feel that welcome on the islands which did impact our experience.
Finally the huts to sleep were ok but very basic. Some of the mattresses were v uncomfortable and in one of them we got rained on in the night…
Overall I would say it’s still a good experience, but if you can afford a slightly more premium option it is worth it.
