Aladdin’s Cave
Tara Antiques Centre的点评
点评：If like me, you’ve watched far too much Antiques Roadshow, then you’ll also love this enormous antiques centre with three floors of treasures.
It’s an excellent rainy day activity and I’d saved my visit for the inevitable rainy day during our Cotswolds stay. It’s happily filled in quite some time, browsing and reminiscing over nostalgic finds.
Like many big centres, lots of different dealers are housed under the one roof. I believe they have about 30 dealers here so there is a lot of variety. It’s a real Aladdin’s cave. The pieces range from antique to vintage/retro. Most are smaller pieces - china, glassware, collectibles, artwork and books. There’s very little furniture.
It is something of a rabbit warren but this appealed to me and I found it fun to explore.
If you are on the antiques trail, there are several other antique shops in the village.
PARKING: You can park in the market square, right outside the antique centre. It’s free but it is limited to 2 hours. Instead we parked in the nearby Tesco carpark. Its a short walk into the square but we could park there all day for free.
