My Pick for a Beach Day on Washington Island!

点评：If I were going to spend a few hours relaxing on a beach on Washington Island, Sand Dunes Beach would be my pick, hands down!
Located along the island's southern shoreline, this little gem has a beautiful sandy beach, crystal-clear Lake Michigan water, and lovely views of Detroit Island in the distance. You can stroll along the shoreline, dip your toes in the water, go swimming or kayaking, or simply find a spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
There are picnic tables, free parking, and plenty of reasons to pack a lunch, bring your favorite cold drink, and stay awhile. Just remember, this is an unsupervised beach, so keep an eye on the little ones and please clean up after yourself.
Even the drive there was enjoyable! We traveled along a peaceful, tree-lined road and spotted deer AND a baby beaver. How cute is that? 🦫
Now, whether northern Wisconsin gives you enough hot summer days to lounge around in a swimsuit is another question! 😂 But on a beautiful day, this is exactly where I'd want to be.
