Fantastic Family Experience!
Emerald Star - Le Boat - Carrick-on-Shannon的点评
点评：From the booking process at the very start to handing back the keys, the whole experience is fantastic. This was our second trip along the River Shannon with Emerald Star and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We went for a week as a family of 3 with our dog and some friends joined us for a couple of nights. The people who dealt with the booking over the phone were super helpful about which boat to choose and giving us the best value for our trip. The ladies on the reception at Carrick-on-Shannon are amazing and couldn't be more helpful - they even gave us a life jacket for our dog! Also the guys that show you how to navigate the boat are excellent and offer great advice on which routes to take. We chose the Elegance (3 berth) as we were expecting our friends to join us and it was spacious, comfortable and provided everything you'd need for the week (delph, glassware etc.) We dined out a few times but enjoyed cooking on the boat too.
I would advise taking the time at the beginning to plan out your route so you give yourself enough time to get from A to B and and figure out where you want to go. The navigation maps are excellent and easy to follow and there's contact numbers provided in case you need some advice while en route.
The River Shannon is absolutely beautiful, especially when the weather is nice, with plenty of little villages and towns to moore up at for the night. Bring board-games / playing cards for entertainment for rainy or dull evenings. We also brought our bikes so we were able to explore the country side. There's a particularly nice walking / cycle route along the canal and locks at Leitrim village.
We can't thank Emerald Start enough and can't wait to go on our next boating trip!
