Re-scheduled, but still great service
MV Caledonian Isles的点评
点评：We had booked o go to Arran on the MV Caledonian Isles from Adrossan as part of our tour of Scotland in advance, about four months before. We had seen all the negative press regarding CalMac Ferries so as the date came closer we were a little apprehensive about being cancelled etc.
The a few weeks before we were to travel Cal Mac notified us that the we would now be departing from Troon on a different ferry and schedule.
On our travel date we decided to leave our hotel a little earlier to ensure we had plenty of time. The weather was also no the best, raining and windy. Would our ferry be cancelled due to weather???
We arrived in Troon well before our departure time and were going to have a wander around the town, but thought we would just go to the Ferry Terminal to check our sailing was on time. There was a very friendly lady at the check-in point and told us if we wanted to join the standby line we could get the ferry that was just about to leave. Which we did and we were no sooner in the que than being ushered on to the ferry. We were amazed how the crew can pack so many cars etc. on the ferry. We now had an extra few hours on Arran.
The trip across was in drizzle and mist and we saw very little until we were almost in Brodick.
The return trip a few days alter, was just as efficient but this time it was clear weather and the sea as calm as mill pond. Now you get the full picturesque views over to Arran as you cross the Firth of Clyde.
Our first experience of CalMac could not have been better and we were now looking forward to our next ferry trip with them.
