An unforgettable day in Priorat – made even better by Ania

点评：We had an absolutely fantastic day in Priorat with Travel Priorat, and I honestly think the experience would not have been the same without Ania.
From the very beginning, Ania understood what we were looking for. We were four people with a genuine interest in food, wine and the region, but we also wanted something personal and authentic – not a standard tour where you simply arrive, taste a few wines and move on. That is exactly what we got.
The whole day felt carefully put together, but never rigid or rushed. Ania has an impressive knowledge of Priorat, but what I appreciated most was the way she shared it. It never felt like a lecture. It was more like spending a day with someone who genuinely loves the region and enjoys introducing people to it.
Our first stop was Saó del Coster in Gratallops, where we met Patrick Pochon. Visiting such a small winery and tasting the wines in the old barrel room was a fantastic start to the day. It felt real and personal, and gave us an immediate sense of what makes Priorat so special.
We then continued to Sangenís i Vaqué in Porrera, where we tasted both younger and older vintages. The combination of the wines, the history of the family and the setting made this another highlight. Ania's knowledge really added something here. She connected the different places, people and wines in a way that made the whole day much more meaningful.
Lunch at Brots was another great choice. A tiny restaurant, imaginative food and a very relaxed atmosphere. It was exactly the kind of place we would never have found on our own. It also says a lot about Ania that she knows these places and understands how to put together a day where the food is just as important as the wine.
The final winery, Mas Doix, was a perfect ending. A completely different experience from the small family wineries earlier in the day, with an impressive modern winery, beautiful views and some outstanding wines.
But although the wineries and wines were excellent, Ania was the real highlight.
She was warm, funny, knowledgeable and incredibly easy to spend a whole day with. She clearly has genuine relationships with the people she brings her guests to meet, and that makes a huge difference. We never felt like tourists being taken through a predetermined programme. We felt like guests being introduced to a place that Ania genuinely cares about.
We have done wine tours before, but this was something different. It felt personal, relaxed and authentic. We learned a lot, tasted some fantastic wines, ate extremely well and, most importantly, had a wonderful day together.
Priorat is a beautiful and fascinating region, but I would strongly recommend experiencing it with someone who knows it properly. If you are considering a visit, I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Travel Priorat – and especially Ania.
