点评:This is an extraordinary museum that offers a specific glimpse of several histories: both the founding of Panama City (and so Florida, in part) and of printing. Our guide, whose name I don't know, provided a thorough, fascinating interactive talk about
the incredible lives and accomplishments of George and Lillian West. Lillian was one of the country's earliest newspaper editors and owners, and George's life, marked with tragedy, is too full to fit into this small space, but he was an entrepreneur, writer, publisher who also raised 2 of his grandchildren. The museum includes several printing machines, and the tour concluded with a sample run of the printer, which is still in use today. You will also learn where the expression "watch your p's and q's" originated. A lovely play station for children allows them to use stamps to make their own printed art. Our guide answered dozens of questions with warmth and knowledge. Great for people who love machines or art or printing or history or all four! A wonderful way to spend an hour or two, away from the screens.
