点评：Some misinformation on this thread. First, to get to Polo Beach, go to the SECOND trail after Villa 414. You will see "POLO" spray painted on a tree by the path. There is a mound in front of the path you need to go over (no big deal - particularly on left side by a tree). Do NOT take the first trail - it is not easy and has do not trespass signs.
Follow the trail - it's fairly easy to a white wall. Step on the footing on the right side to go around. Continue to follow the trail to the beach and then continue to Polo's house (some will say shack). The total walk is a bit less than a half mile.
Polo is currently about 80-years-old and has been there since he was 17. He drinks every day, so he may be a little drunk in the late afternoon. He sells cold beer for $2, CoCo-Loco (be careful - one is good for two people) and has lobster and usually fish on the grill until mid-afternoon.
The beach is amazing - locals say it is the best beach in all of Bocas and I agree. The water is smooth due to the out-lying reef. You can fish or snorkel or just enjoy a beech walk.
There are many stories and I don't know which are true and which are not. Some say Polo sold the beach with the right to stay there until he dies, and that he is worth over a million dollars. Maybe - I'm sure money means little and that it is the lifestyle he relishes.
He gathers rain water for drinking and can live off the land and sea. He and I hit it off and we talked for over a half hour.
