The highlight of our trip!!
Sri Lanka Knuckles Trekking的点评
点评：We booked a 2-day 1-night hike through the knuckles, staying in a local homestay with Hema. It was hands down the highlight of our trip!
Despite it raining (very heavily 😅) for most of the time we were hiking, we still had so much fun and enjoyed our time.
Hema was kind, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and very organised with the tour. The tour was family run and personal, one of our highlights was enjoying refreshments with Hema after the hike and sharing stories. My mum has recently had a surgery and was very nervous about hiking, however he helped her to feel very reassured and confident. She was able to hike 25km over the two days, which was an amazing accomplishment for her!
Hema and his porta were able to adapt the hiking routes so that my parents were able to hike within their ranges, and I also got to have a bit of an extra challenge. We also had to ‘adventure hike’, adapting the hike on the second day due to the heavy rainfall (not being able to cross the river), but still had amazing views.
Hema and his portas were so helpful, always there to offer a hand if needed.
And the food!! AMAZING! The best food we have had during our time in Sri Lanka. Hema’s wife prepared the most delicious meal that we ate at a waterfall, and later we enjoyed a beautiful home cooked meal from the hosts at the homestay.
The homestay was comfortable, with everything that you need (except hot water - but on a hot day this would be very welcomed!), and the hosts were so kind.
We highly recommend that you book this experience, you will have an amazing time! Be prepared for lots of leeches, however Hema and his team are experts in managing these and are an inevitable part of hiking anywhere in LK.
