点评:To get to this site on the Rio Guayabero took 2 hours through some treacherous, pot-holed, deep gullied dirt roads that rattled me to the core. But I survived.
At the start of this trek with the local tour group, we had an amazing fresh Bagri fish dinner caught in the adjoining Guayabero River. We traversed the river in a canoe to get to a place where we started our trek to see 12,600 year old rock paintings but it was more challenging than Cerro Azul.
We had to climb man-made ladders, squeeze through giant boulders and shimmy between rock faces. It was 2,000 metres straight up to the rock paintings. Then a further 1,000 metres to an amazing view (miradouro) of the Amazon.
We took the canoe to another crystal lake pool fed by the mountain streams. We saw many birds, turtles, capybara tracks and a couple of dolphins cavorting - for the briefest of moments. A five-hour trip from San Jose del Guaviare that was well worth it. A must see and do.
