点评：Booked the dust and mud tour for which Nelson collected us from Funchal. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the buggies and on arrival Nelson gives you a thorough safety briefing on driving and provides you with waterproof trousers and jacket (which believe me if there’s been rain you will need as you get VERY wet and muddy.)
It’s then a short drive along the road before you turn off onto off roading which is terrifying for the first 10 minutes (my screams were proof) but after you get used to it, it’s great fun. I would say only do this if you’re a confident driver and don’t mind getting dirty as the terrain is pretty rough and some of the puddles are huge.
Nelson is an excellent guide - a really lovely guy who we thoroughly enjoyed spending an afternoon of our holiday with. A great sense of humour, a brilliant photographer and lots of interesting knowledge about Madeira and its history.
