Good circular walk among canal and railway (in winter when not overgrown!)

点评：A lovely surprise discovery, I followed the canal out of town, it is a lovely tranquil ramble. The first notable sight is a small metal aqueduct just before the huge and impressive railway viaduct. The towpath is fenced off after a larger aqueduct (which you can't really see from the canal). Back at the small aqueduct, it is quite a scramble down to the path below which links across to the old railway line. The aqueduct trough is interesting. The railway is blocked at the viaduct but was easily walkable back to Tavistock, a bit boggy in places and last year's brambles which had died back, I can well believe it might be badly overgrown in the summer. Comes into Tavistock through some new housing estates under construction, at the main road turn left and first right and right again (following the cycle route) and you rejoin the railway, well surfaced this time, and eventually go across a viaduct where the trail ends, you are now close to the town centre.
