点评：It's a stunning rotunda and located centrally in town, so you can't miss seeing it even if you are driving through. Erected in 1903 it is there in commemoration of the glorious reign of her late majesty Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria passed away two years earlier and still she was remembered by the towns folk.
It was designed by Ballarat architects Clegg and Miller and built by Stevenson Brothers in 1903 at a cost of around £300.
The clock that surmounts this memorial was presented by Rear Admiral Bridges of Trawalla. Rear-Admiral Bridges entered the Royal Navy in 1853, at theage of 13 years, as a naval cadet.Rear-Admiral Bridges was a splendid type of an English gentleman. Adapting himself to Australian country life he became a successful pastoralist. The Trawalla estate, near Beaufort, was purchased by him in 1887, and when he retired from the navy he took up his residence on this properly.
