Situated in a truly beautiful village, this abbey is well worth a visit.

点评：The abbey is the architectural and historic standout feature in this truly lovely little village, and is located in a lovely, grassy area. Unlike most abbeys and large churches, this one is almost completely bereft of ornamentation, which I find refreshing as I abhor the context of churches spending lavishly in self-adornment.
The abbey here has high plain walls of light coloured stone and is of such size that the plain, dark wood pulpit attached to one of the nave walls seemed decidedly of secondary importance, which is how things should be.
There’s not a huge amount to discover here, but whereas I would normally have marked it as average, the location of the abbey in this lovely village certainly merits another point and certainly deems it well worth a visit.
