The best view on the entire island of Capri

点评：We called in at beautiful Parco Astarita on our way to Villa Jovis. You cannot take a taxi here as motor vehicles are not permitted on this road. It's therefore a long, uphill hike along Via Tiberio from the center of Capri Town. Google states the walk should take about 40 mins (depending on where you start from obviously) but for us it was closer to 90 mins as we got lost on a couple of occasions and had to backtrack. Initially the route is well-signposted out of town but that help soon ends. So long as you remember to basically keep going uphill you should be OK. Coming back is much easier and quicker obviously because it’s downhill. The park is free although a man in a uniform (no idea if he’s ‘official’ or not) will try to charge you money at the entrance. You can just ignore him. Opening hours are mostly 10:00-14:00 and this changes depending on the day. There are multiple observation points along the designated walk and the view from final terrace of the park is breathtaking. It’s the best view on the entire island of Capri but let’s keep that our secret. Wild goats roam free within the park’s 150,000 square meters where you can smell the myrtle, heather and rosemary. The park was planned and has been planted with carob trees, pines and holm oaks which offer shelter while you appreciate the outstanding views.
