Pros & Cons of the Perisher Epic Pass

点评：Skiing in Australia can be hit and miss and sadly, this was not a great year. Unlike last year when there was good snowfall, the snow was patchy this season, with a lot of runs closed. We were told that its been the third-lowest snow level on record.
One thing Perisher has going for it over Thredbo, is that it’s large and has a lot more runs so we still got some good skiing in. When conditions were poor in one part, we could ski elsewhere. Even so, only about 40 of its 100 or so runs were open when we were there.
EPIC PASS: We like to buy the Epic Ski Pass for the savings but you need to work out whether it is worth it for you. In my experience, it’s only been worth it if we are spending a week at Perisher and if we buy it when it’s first released (it gets more expensive as it gets closer to the ski season). If you also plan to ski overseas at any one of the related resorts then it can become good value. There are some smaller benefits like ‘buddy passes’ which can get you significant discounts for a friend’s lift ticket especially mid-week. This worked well for us and we passed on the benefit to a friend for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However the buddy rate varies a lot depending on the day and on a Friday or weekend there was barely any saving to be had.
