Fantastic winery tour and tasting

点评：We had a fantastic vineyard tour and tasting at the Russo winery. After meeting and getting a tour of the building where the wines are vinified and aged in oak, we then drove out to the lovely facility they have at the Feudi vineyard stie. There, we were given a tour by the winemaker that was fascinatingly educational - about the unique microclimate and volcanic soils, and the approaches they take in growing and vinifying the grapes.
And the tasting was fantastic - we tasted through 5 wines - each distinct, yet also reflective of a similar style. Delicious, complex, and extremely drinkable - this is one of the benchmark producers for Nerello Mascalese.
A magical place and great wines - I recommend this to all wine lovers. This isn't industrialized Napa tourism - it's a warm, welcoming experience from one of Sicily's best producers. And it's really something to see vineyard rows, with enormous lava fields in the distance on the north side of Etna!
