Widewater State Park的点评
点评：I had an experience at a state park that I feel compelled to share. My family and I love visiting the park, and we have always enjoyed our interactions with the rangers. However, during our last visit, we encountered a situation that was both uncomfortable and disappointing.
We were engaged in a delightful conversation with a very polite and knowledgeable ranger with dark hair and an accent. Despite English not being her first language, we had no problem understanding her and appreciated her willingness to share her knowledge and experiences.
Unfortunately, this pleasant encounter was disrupted when another ranger( short, glasses, high pitched voice) interjected, repeatedly correcting the grammar of the first ranger in front of us. The first ranger stepped back gracefully, letting the second ranger take over the conversation. Her behavior was not only rude but also disrespectful, creating an awkward and uncomfortable atmosphere.
It's important to note that this kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a state institution. As per state laws, every employee has the right to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. Behavior that undermines an individual's work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment is subject to legal consequences.
The ranger we initially interacted with clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and her ability to communicate effectively in a language that is not her first is commendable. It's disheartening to see her expertise overshadowed by another's lack of respect and professionalism.
We hope the park management will address this issue promptly to ensure all staff members are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve, regardless of their cultural background or language proficiency.
