点评:PROS
* Historic for the 1700s until today (see my "helpful" photos of grave markers from 1700s as well as 2022)!!
* Burial site of the founder of the town
* Well-tended, well-preserved and well- cared for area
CONS
* It's out of Lower Town City and a bit of a walk up the Appalachian Trail, but I'm sure that one can drive to an access entrance point too
* Unmarked on the Appalachian Trail!!
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... when I saw about twenty big steps leading up steeply from the path of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail ( please see and read there my "helpful" review). I had no idea what might be there, as there were no markings nor signage whatsoever.
I decided to climb the steps and see what (if anything) might be there. To my great surprise and happiness and pleasure. I was stunned and thrilled to find this amazing well-tended and well-preserved cemetery. How historic!!
There are so many intact markers from the 1700s and 1800s!!
ADVICES
It's definitely worth the time to go here- it's an essential (but poorly publicized and even more poorly marked) historical piece of a visited to the Historic Lower Town of Harpers Ferry.
