点评:Still standing after ~300 years! If trees could talk I’d like to image all the history/changes it experienced in that time (and the gossip it heard from people gathered in its shade on a hot day). There is visitor parking next to the star farm building and the tree is definitely still there so I’m not sure why people gave bad reviews unless they couldn’t figure out where it was (it a massive tree with a sign out front… idk). The plaque is a short read. The walk from the parking lot is 30 feet and flat. We spent maybe 10 minutes looking at the several sassafras trees in the yard. Suggestions would be to google Owensboro history timelines to see what was going on 200-300 years ago. And also read about uses of sassafras (filé powder, root beer, tea) and the FDA ban on its uses which imo is an interesting conversation and a tad controversial.
