点评:Arcades and Alleyways – Pall Mall to Piccadilly via Regent Street and St James's
I have done several walks with Jane, this being the latest.
Each of these walks has been meticulously planned and researched. Many familiar places are given a new insight through Jane's eyes, in addition to the hidden gems to be discovered following her ducking down an unpredeposing alley or passage.
Jane's special talent as a guide is how she rescues people and places now largely forgotten by telling us the human stories associated with the buildings. A particular strength of her walks is that Jane always supports her tours with a range of photographs, advertisements, maps and contemporary newspaper clippings to vividly bring these people, rich or poor, famous or obscure, and places back to life.
I would not hesitate to recommend joining Jane for a walk; or even better, contact her to create a tailored, unique tour when you are next visiting the capital.
