点评：We found this "Barge and Hike" trip in a catalog from a company that we've used many times in the past. The trip was absolutely wonderful for the two of us, and we suspect the rest of the passengers enjoyed as much as we did. You'll be on one of the coolest vessels on the Great Glen Way (the trip from Inverness to Banavie). Miles of gorgeous lochs, canals, and hiking are just for starters. Since you're on a vessel originally built in 1929, there's a sense of history as you roll along at 5 knots.
The 4 crewmembers were excellent, both as shipmates and in doing their specific jobs. We had a very experienced captain, of course, who was skilled not only as a boat driver, but also as a team organizer. The bo'sun kept everything running smoothly, and brought the 160 ton vessel to a stop using spring lines exactly where it needed to be. Our Chef cooked flavorful, healthy meals and helped with boat duties when he wasn't cooking. And our Guide was excellent in keeping everyone motivated during the morning and afternoon walks (generally 8 miles per day.)
We would recommend this team to anyone considering a hiking and boating experience on the Great Glen Way.
