Poor animals and trash Overall

点评：Koh Mook is a beautiful island in terms of nature, but sadly our overall impression was very disappointing. Especially in the areas where many locals live, the island is heavily littered and seems neglected in many places. It is very sad to see so much trash in such a naturally beautiful place.
What upset us even more was the situation for the animals. Many dogs and cats seem to be left to fend for themselves, with very little visible care or support. We even fed the injured dogs shown in the picture because they looked abandoned and in need of help. Seeing animals in that condition was heartbreaking and left a very negative impression on us.
There was a sterilization and castration campaign last year by an organization from another island, which was a good step, but unfortunately that seems to have been all in recent times. It does not feel like there is enough ongoing local care, support, or medical help for the animals on Koh Mook.
It is a real shame, because the island itself has so much potential. But beautiful beaches alone are not enough when there are serious problems with litter and animal welfare. We truly hope more responsibility will be taken in the future — both for the environment and for the animals.
