Isle of Raasay Distillery的点评
点评：Set in an enchanting location, this distillery is an absolute must-see. Minutes away from the ferry terminal on Raasay, it’s easy to reach on foot or car. The tour by Steve was informative, knowledgeable and relaxed, with many opportunities to ask questions along the way. The distillery itself is unique in many ways and worth the tour on its own, but the tastings are definitely a bonus (with designated drivers getting little bottles to take away and taste later). The whisky is indeed the star of the show and it was impossible to leave without a purchase. But what was really impressive to hear is how the distillery is having a positive impact on the islands economy and community, particularly as it’s not part of any large conglomerate. Following the tour we had a lovely light lunch in the bar where we met Jo, who it turns out originally comes from the same tiny village as me in Yorkshire (a total first!!).
As a ‘on a whim’ trip that we only decided to take the night before, the distillery and Raasay was absolutely the best part of our break. Honestly, anyone visiting Skye and the surrounding region is truly missing a gem of not taking the short ferry trip. We so hope to get back and visit again.
