Shotton Railway Station的点评
点评：It was my first experience of Shotten station, or should I say stations. Before going I had fortunately done a search on the station and had read the Trip Advisor comments which alerted me to the fact that changing platforms really means changing stations. This perhaps wouldn't be a major problem if when booking the tickets online a message appeared telling you there is Shotton low level station and high level station and they are quite far apart. Also an information notice at the station would be helpful, I can't imagine why there isn't one. So passengers alighting cluster together wondering which way to go to catch a connecting train. If you have a disability which affects walking, COPD or heart problems stay from Shotton. I got off the train at low level platform 1, I walked down a fairly long street heading for the High Street, after I turned a corner a walked further saw a sign which said Platform 3, but no I had to walk even further until I reached a sign for Platform 4
3 and 4 are the high level platforms and even they don't connect. I had 15 minutes to get from low level to high level and the last part of the walk left me breathless. On my return journey the conductor (if they are called that these days) asked me if I new how to reach the other level and when I answered in the affirmative she asked if I would assist someone else who had no idea how to get there, well they wouldn't would they, there are no signs at all along the route back from high level to low level. So what is the answer, we can't change the position of the lines but Transport for Wales could just put up some notices with directions. I will be contacting them
