As ethical as you can get (without them being in the wild).

点评：When looking for an ethical Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand I was lucky enough to find Chang Chill. Elephants are left to be elephants, no washing, feeding by hand, riding or putting. The four Chang Chill Elephants have come from various backgrounds including logging and now lead a very happy and chilled existence.
Chang Chill is located in a beautiful valley with a river running by it. I booked on a half day trip where we were picked up in Chiang Mai by an air conditioned minibus. A stop at a services en route meant we could pick up a raincoat and snacks for those that needed them.
It took 90 minutes or so from the city to a beautiful jungle hideout. Bring walking boots as it's a few ups and a few downs! We went and found the Elephant in the jungle with their Mahout and just stayed respectfully from them and observed. It was wonderful. Photos could be taken but it was really peaceful and gentle. We then went and chopped some sugar cane and then put it in some tubes for some elephant snackie enrichment.
A lovely vegetarian lunch (pad Thai/rice/potato masaman curry etc) was served, then it was time to secure a spot on the viewing platform to watch the four Elephants come in for their snack.
Toilets are clean and plentiful. The transport was air conditioned and on time.
Whilst the only ethical way to see elephant is 100% in the wild, Chang Chill offer safe homes to these four girls to live out the rest of their days as happy elephants, doing things that elephants should.
