点评：Walking on top of the walls was probably the best single experience of our 24 hours in the Old Town! Buy your ticket at the ticket office in the Palace of the Grand Master. The entrance to the walls is via a gateway on the left hand side of the Palace forecourt. There’s no signage, just a custodian who inspects your ticket. The walls are open Monday-Friday, 12 noon - 3 pm.
The walkway on top of the walls is wide enough for chariots to pass each other, so (although you are high up) there’s no sense of vertigo. Information plaques explain all the main features of the astonishing defensive features and their part in the final Ottoman siege. You get a real sense of the dramatic history of Rhodes and because it’s so uncrowded there’s real atmosphere too.
The walkable section (approximately a third of the total walls) is also the highest so you get excellent panoramic views of the city.
