点评：The Fort East Martello Museum was an unforgettable stop on our Key West trip. I came for the history and the legendary Robert the Doll, and I was absolutely not disappointed. This place is so much more than a typical museum; it’s a fascinating combination of local history, quirky folk art, and genuine mystery.
The fort itself is a striking piece of Civil War history, and walking through the old brick casemates and up to the top of the tower gives you a fantastic view of the island and the ocean. It’s amazing to think this structure was never used in battle. The real magic, though, is how the museum has transformed the space to showcase the creative and unique spirit of Key West. The exhibits featuring local artists, especially the metal sculptures by Stanley Papio, are an unexpected delight and truly capture the island's independent soul.
And then, of course, there’s Robert the Doll. The staff has created an incredibly effective and eerie exhibit that tells his story in a captivating way. Seeing him in person, behind his glass case, is a powerful experience, even if you’re a skeptic. It's a must-do for anyone interested in the supernatural or just a good, spooky story.
