Very Well Curated Exhibits and Friendly Staff

点评：Saskatoon might not be the place that first comes to mind when you think of fine art but this gallery is worth a stop. When we were there they had an exhibit of linocut prints and they had set up a demonstration studio where you can watch the artists put together a print - it is detailed and immersive work and we had a chance to ask questions and observe the activity of creation in a way that I have never experienced before.
If you don’t like modern art you will not enjoy the third floor, but go up there anyway because that’s where the Picassos are, and they are fantastic! Because they are prints you can get a really unique perspective on how he saw the world, as he was clearly experimenting with different techniques, colours, and layering effects to create different visual emphases. If you do like modern art you are guaranteed to like whatever the current exhibit is!
The second floor houses numerous works from local and Canadian artists including one of my favourites by Lawren S. Harris of the mountains.
There is a store on site.
