Walsingham Disappointment
Catholic National Shrine & Basilica of Our Lady的点评
点评：This was a great disappointment. We travelled with a parish group of 52 people. We had contacted the Shrine several times in advance to ask if our group could bring our parish petitions to the altar at the Offertory but when we arrived this request was refused. Pity.
The Mass was celebrated by a priest whose sermon was full of jargon and cliches - he presented as a bit of a snob. Why are the helpers dressed i Crusader tabards? It looked like fancy dress. We were lectured on how to receive Communion which was unnecessary. Being 75, and a cradle Catholic, I felt this approach to be patronising and arrogant.
We felt uncomfortable with some of the comments made by some of the coach park staff regarding different ethnic groups and the female toilets had only half in order.
I have been to Walsingham many times but this was very disappointing and I wont be coming back while the current dispensation obtains.
