点评:Fort Clinch is in a beautiful setting. There’s a mix of things to do outside the fort of walking, biking, beaches-one for swimming and others for fishing and shell/shark teeth hunting. Our first visit luckily coincided with a WW11 event with reenactors living as though stationed oversees at key times. They were incredibly knowledgeable and had lots of interesting historical artifacts. Our second visit was the first weekend of the month where reenactors are there as though living in the fort. Without the reenactors the fort is interesting but the only info you get is via the museum before you enter. Other than that you can walk and go in open rooms or look through the open windows of closed rooms but there’s no info. Would be great if there were signs with info about what you were looking at. Outside the fort there are multiple walking trails through the woods. And of course the beaches. One has swimming - the others not because of strong currents. Lots of people fishing and looking for shark teeth. (We found 3). The gift shop is nice with some snack (Ice cream and sweets mostly) and I think drink options and 3 small tables for eating. It’s a nice mix for us of nature and history!
