横滨八景岛海岛乐园的点评
点评：This place is absolutely horrendous. The enclosures for the animals are way too small. The most upsetting were the large animals like the solitary polar bear in a tiny indoor enclosure, seals, walrus, all trapped swimming in tiny indoor spaces areas. The animals looked depressed and stressed, water looks dirty and some crabs could barely move in their enclosures. One room had tiny square boxes with crabs and shellfish barely able to move. Worse than any zoo I have ever visited. No way a large animal like a polar bear should be kept in captivity like this. They are living out their lives without anywhere to move and with limited company. I refrained from visiting the dolphins because at this point I had to get out of there where I subsequently broke down and cried.
I would strongly warn people against visiting this place and giving it money. It should be closed down. Are there any animal rights groups in Japan that can campaign against places like this?
