点评：We were escorted to Shimansky Jewellers from our hotel as the concierge had arranged. We were met by Carien Oosthuizen who gave us a tour of the production area. Although the jewelers were no longer working, she explained the process and then we went to the museum area where we learned the history of South African diamond and Tanzanite mining and production.
She showed us samples of the ore and tiny uncut low quality stones and models of gem quality stones including famous jewels. We leisurely looked at several finished pieces. Although there was no pressure to purchase anything we bought something as a memory of our trip.
Carien Oosthuizen let me take her photograph with some Tanzanite and diamond jewelry and our travel mascot Bucky Badger which I have attached.
